BONVALLIS ACORN HONEY P.D.O.

Bonvallis Acorn Honey P.D.O. is harvested in the Ibores region of Extremadura which is ensconced in one of Spain’s unique landscapes protected by mountains, declared World Heritage Site by Unesco. It is blessed by a special microclimate, which has allowed the development of a Mediterranean forest in its purest state since ancient times.

In the XIV century the monks of the Guadalupe Monastery first started beekeeping in the area. Nowadays, very few families keep this tradition alive, turning the sap of the Mediterranean Holm oak with the help of its bees into a delicious, nutritious, aromatic and thick Mediterranean honey. This honey is protected within Villuercas-Ibores P.D.O.
